Why I picked this watch: I picked this watch because it combines the timeless elegance of a vintage Omega with features that are increasingly hard to find today. Its larger-than-usual case size for a ladies’ Omega of this era gives it a stronger wrist presence and readability, while the original Omega case adds an extra layer of authenticity. It is an ideal choice for a woman who values both original design and the peace of mind that comes with expert technical restoration.
OMEGA vintage ladies watch, Swiss Made with in-house 485 movement, 23 mm across excluding the crown, hand-wound (mechanical, no battery!), working fine and serviced. Its serial number dates it to 1970. Ref. 511.409.
Omega, a legendary Swiss watchmaker, was founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt. The company truly took its iconic name in 1903. While famous for men’s watches, Omega also has a rich history of producing elegant women’s timepieces. The Caliber 485 is a prime example of this. Produced from the 1960s to the early 1970s, this 17-jewel movement was renowned for its slim profile and reliability. It was a key caliber in many of Omega’s refined dress watch collections during that era. Vintage Omega watches with the Caliber 485 are highly valued by collectors for their classic design, dependable performance, and the superb craftsmanship that went into creating such a compact and elegant movement.
Gold-plated case with a remarkable diametre of 23 mm. The watch also features a new brown leather strap. It will fit wrists of up to 18 cm. Lug width is 11 mm. Water resistance has not been tested, therefore it must be treated as NON-waterproof. The watch will be delivered in its original Omega box as seen in the pictures.
As with any other vintage mechanical watch, exact accuracy cannot be guaranteed, as it depends on many factors, including your kind of use. It has been regulated in different positions to minimize the average time gain/loss. The watch has been recently serviced.
