Description

Rare SEIKO vintage watch, reference 6300-8000, with in-house 63A movement, Japan made in 1976 (according to its serial number), case of 37 mm, hand-wound (mechanical, no battery!), working fine and serviced.

Seiko, a powerhouse in Japanese watchmaking, began its journey in 1881 when Kintaro Hattori opened a shop in Tokyo, officially adopting the “Seiko” brand name for its watches in 1924.  While Seiko is widely known for its automatic and quartz innovations, the brand also produced a range of excellent manual-wind movements, which were central to its early success and continued to be featured in many reliable timepieces. These movements showcased Seiko’s commitment to precision and craftsmanship, even in simpler, hand-wound calibers. One example is the 63A movement, which offered robust and accurate timekeeping. Vintage Seiko watches featuring these manual-wind calibers are appreciated by collectors for their clean designs, direct connection to the watchmaking process, and their role in the brand’s diverse mechanical history, representing a period of meticulous craftsmanship before the widespread dominance of automatic movements.

The case is stainless steel, with some scratches as can be seen in the photos. The dial shows some wear – please check the photos. The watch also features its genuine Seiko stainless steel bracelet. It will fit wrists of up to 20 cm. An extension clasp can be fitted upon request. Water resistance has not been tested, therefore it must be treated as NON-waterproof.

As with any other vintage mechanical watch, exact accuracy cannot be guaranteed, as it depends on many factors, including your kind of use. It has been regulated in different positions to minimize the average time gain/loss. The watch has been fully serviced in July 2025.

FREE registered (tracked) shipment worldwide. VAT is included in the price (European Union).
