1973 Bulova Accutron vintage watch, ref. 3-451905 / N3, with 2182G movement, case of 38 mm, day (Spanish) and date indication, battery-powered, working fine and recently serviced.

Bulova, the American watchmaking giant, was founded in 1875 by Joseph Bulova in New York. The brand is renowned for its spirit of innovation, its early adoption of part standardization, and its pivotal role in both the Space Race and the history of precision timekeeping.
The Bulova Accutron, introduced in 1960, wasn’t just a watch; it was a technological revolution that changed horology forever. It was the world’s first fully electronic wristwatch, replacing the traditional balance wheel with a tuning fork powered by a battery.
Designed by physicist Max Hetzel, this movement vibrated at a high frequency of 360 Hz, ensuring unprecedented accuracy for the era. Two iconic characteristics define the Accutron experience: the distinct humming sound it emits instead of a traditional “tick-tock,” and its seconds hand, which glides in a completely fluid, continuous sweep that is smoother than almost any mechanical or quartz watch. The Accutron remains a masterpiece of 1960-70s futurism and a favorite among collectors.

This piece has a stainless steel case, signed Bulova crown and bracelet, 100% original – please check the photos. The bracelet will fit wrists of up to 20 cm. Water resistance has not been tested, therefore it must be treated as NON-waterproof.
The watch will be delivered in a new padded box as seen in the photos, for a better protection during transportation and for a smart and safe storing once you receive it.
This model needs a special replacement battery, which is also included for free (its retail price is around 20 EUR + shipping).
