1950 UNIVERSAL GENEVE vintage watch, cal. 262, 37 mm, working and serviced

UNIVERSAL GENEVE vintage watch, with in-house 262 movement, Swiss made in 1950 (according to its serial number), 37 mm across excluding the crown, hand-wound (mechanical, no battery!), working fine and serviced.

Universal Genève, a distinguished Swiss watch manufacturer, was founded in 1894 in Le Locle. The company soon moved its headquarters to Geneva, linking its name to the city’s watchmaking prestige and eventually adopting “Universal Genève” in 1937.
Universal Genève is renowned for its sophisticated designs and innovative movements, with many of its iconic pieces featuring manual-wind calibers such as this 262, a robust and reliable movement that powered many of Universal Genève’s elegant time-only and subsidiary seconds watches. These watches are highly sought after by collectors for their classic design, dependable performance, and historical significance, embodying the understated elegance of mid-century Swiss horology.

The case gold plating is worn in some areas – please check the photos. The watch features a new Hirsch brown leather strap. It will fit wrists of up to 21 cm.
Water resistance has not been tested, therefore it must be treated as NON-waterproof.
The watch will be delivered in a new padded box as seen in the photos, for a better protection during transportation and for a smart and safe storing once you receive it.

As with any other vintage mechanical watch, exact accuracy cannot be guaranteed, as it depends on many factors, including your kind of use. It has been regulated in different positions to minimize the average time gain/loss. The watch has been serviced in August 2025.
