LONGINES vintage trench watch, with in-house 13.34 movement, Swiss made in 1926 (according to its serial number), case of 31.5 mm across excluding the crown, hand-wound (mechanical, no battery!), working fine and serviced.
Longines, the prestigious Swiss watchmaker, was founded in 1832 by Auguste Agassiz in Saint-Imier. The brand, officially named “Longines” in 1867, quickly established a reputation for precision and quality.
Longines played a significant role in the transition from pocket watches to wristwatches, particularly with its “trench watches” from the World War I era. These timepieces, designed for military officers and soldiers, were among the first purpose-built men’s wristwatches, featuring robust cases with fixed wire lugs to attach a strap.
Longines’ trench watches were highly regarded for their reliability and precision, often housing well-engineered manual-wind movements like the Caliber 13.34. Today, vintage Longines trench watches are highly sought after by collectors for their historical significance, representing a key moment in the evolution of horology and a tangible link to a pivotal period in world history.
This piece features a metal case with some scratches – please check the photos. The enamel dial has some hairlines, mainly at 10. The watch features a new handcrafted brown leather strap for fixed lugs, custom made for trench watches. It will fit wrists of up to 21 cm. The watch is NON-waterproof. This is a historical timepiece and should be treated as such.
As with any other vintage mechanical watch, exact accuracy cannot be guaranteed, as it depends on many factors, including your kind of use. It has been regulated in different positions to minimize the average time gain/loss. The watch has been serviced in September 2025.
