Why I picked this watch: I selected this 1952 Omega pocket watch because it is a pristine example of the ‘New Era’ of post-war horology, where precision met minimalist industrial design. I was particularly struck by the clarity of its dial and the sharp, well-preserved lines of the steel case. Omega, the legendary Swiss watchmaker, was founded in 1848 in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The company truly took its iconic name in 1903, inspired by their revolutionary 1894 “Omega” calibre, a movement renowned for its precision and ease of repair. Throughout the 20th century, Omega became synonymous with groundbreaking achievements, including being the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games since 1932 and the producer of the iconic Seamaster collection.
This piece features a metal case and dial, with some light scratches and dots as can be seen in the photos. The watch also features a new metallic chain. Water resistance has not been tested, therefore it must be treated as NON-waterproof.
The watch will be delivered in a new padded box as seen in the photos, for a better protection during transportation and for a smart and safe storing once you receive it.
As with any other vintage mechanical watch, exact accuracy cannot be guaranteed, as it depends on many factors, including your kind of use. It has been regulated in different positions to minimize the average time gain/loss. After the purchase, you can let me know if you will be using it with dial up or with pendant up so that I regulate it accordingly before shipping. The watch has been recently serviced.
